Thanks to the tax season in the USA, manufacturers like Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Olympus and Panasonic have been aggressively pushing their sales, offering great rebates for cameras, lenses and accessories. So if you are looking for a good deal, now is a good opportunity to save some money (I do not expect to see good rebates / savings until the end of the year). Let’s start with Nikon. The good news is, Nikon has extended its lens savings program until March 29, 2014 and is now offering more rebates for those that are looking for camera + lens combo savings. These combo savings include such cameras as Nikon D3100, D3200, D5200, D5300, D7000, D7100. D610, D800/D800E and Df. Most of these cameras currently already have instant rebates and if you combine them with some lenses, you can save up to $680 off. Unfortunately, the lens selection is pretty small and mostly includes DX lenses. There is only one FX lens offered (70-300mm VR), from which you can slice off another $200, bringing the price down to under $400. You can access the rebates through the “Buy together and Save” link.
The extended Nikon lens rebate program can be accessed by clicking on the above image, or you can also click this link to get to the rebate page. Although we have already covered all the available lenses in our previous article, I want to point out my personal picks from the rebate – the Nikon 16-35mm f/4G VR ($300 off) and Nikon 24-120mm f/4G VR ($300 off). At under $1000, the rebate price is amazing for these superb lenses, so it is definitely great value. Other notable savings include the Nikon 85mm f/1.8G portrait lens for $400 ($100 off, one of my favorites), Nikon 105mm f/2.8G VR Micro ($185 off) and Nikon 80-400mm VR ($400 off). Great lenses at great prices.
For those that want to move up to full-frame, the Nikon D610 is now $100 off (see my review).
Canon is also offering some great savings on its lenses and speedlites through mail-in rebates. Unlike Nikon that excluded all of its pro-level lenses from the rebate program, Canon has some top-of-the-line lenses like Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM ($200 off) and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM ($200 off). The list of lenses is pretty extensive, so you can check it out right here. The Canon rebate will end on 03/29/2014 as well.
Pentax shooters also enjoy some great savings on lenses and flashes, up to $400 off.
And lastly, there are some great WPPI specials that are expiring tomorrow:
- Fuji X-E2 Kit with 18-55mm lens – $150 off
- Fuji X-T1 – $50 off
- Olympus OM-D E-M1 – $100 off
- Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7 – $200 off
To get the above rebates, you must use the promo code “107510322968816661625” in the “Enter Promo Code” field while checking out.
Happy shopping!
